Research and Development Cell (RDC)
The Research and Development Cell (RDC) has been established at RMDIPER to inculcate research and innovative skills and practices among faculty and students in a long term. The RDC aims at providing basic infrastructural support and guidance to students and faculty for successful execution of their innovative and thought-provoking ideas into action. In the technologically driven world, innovative breakthroughs will happen only because of meticulous efforts of RDC.
The committee for RDC oversees the smooth and efficient coordination of research and development (R&D) activities in the Institute, thus fostering overall growth. The committee consists of Principal, Coordinator, HoDsand Faculty member(s) for facilitating the routine functioning of the cell.
Objectives
- To foster scientific temper and maintain research conducive environment
- To inculcate research and innovation culture among faculty and students
- To organize and coordinate R&D programs (Seminars/Conferences/Workshops)
- To create awareness on latest evolving technologies and international standards for research
- To encourage and facilitate the publication of research works/projects in reputed national/ international journals
- To conduct research activities in thrust areas in Pharmaceutical and Healthcare fields
- To develop liaison with R&D organizations/ institute and establish MOUs with them
- To create awareness about filing patents and IPR activities
- To enhance quality of student projects and establish centre of excellence academic institute
Main Activities
- Assisting faculty and students in submitting research proposals for grants from various funding agencies like SPPU, DST, AICTE, CSIR etc.
- Promoting in-house R&D projects of the faculty (Ph.D candidates) and students
- Organizing seminars and conferences on R&D and IPRs
- Assisting faculty and students for research and book/ chapter publications
- Motivating faculty and students in filing and publication of IPRs like patents and copyrights

- Publication of research and review papers in peer-reviewed journals
- Publication of books, monographs and chapters
- Research proposals for different funding agencies
- Participation and organizing seminars, conferences, workshops and STC/STTP/FDP/QIP
- Participation in collaborative research works/ linkages with national/ international institutes
- Signing MOU with academic institutes, research organization and Pharmaindustries
- Patent filing, publications and grants
- Encouragement for higher studies (PG and Ph.D) in Pharmaceutical and allied fields

The Startup and Innovation Cell (SIC) at RMDIPER aims to create an ecosystem that brings together its students as young aspiring innovators by nurturing their hidden skills and novel ideas for successfulinnovations, startups, and entrepreneurial development. Objectives

Entrepreneurship and Incubation Cell (EIC)
The Entrepreneurshipand Incubation Cell(EIC)of RMDIPER aims to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship in the minds of young students and encourage those who wish to pursue entrepreneurship as a career. The committee for EICprovides appropriate guidance and support to students for the growth and development of the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

- To conduct relevant seminars, workshops, and lecture sessions (entrepreneurship- challenges and opportunities) with alumni and entrepreneurs to acquaint the students with knowledge and skill required to become a successful entrepreneur

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)
About IIC
The Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India has established ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation among all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years. MIC has envisioned encouraging creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs) across selected HEIs. A network of IICs is established to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion ecosystem in the campuses. MIC has established Institution's Innovation Council in more than 2700 Institutions till December 2021.
Major Focus
- To create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem.
- Start-up supporting mechanism in HEIs.
- Prepare institute for Atal Ranking of institutions on innovation achievements framework.
- Establish function ecosystem for scouting ideas and pre-incubation of ideas.
- Develop better cognitive ability among students.

Functions of IIC
- To conduct various Innovations, IPR and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by MIC in time bound fashion.
- Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
- Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
- Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
- Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students.
- Organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini-challenges etc. with the involvement of industries.
